From market research to the multiverse…

After a long career in market research and strategic planning, I realized that many—maybe most—people are woefully unprepared to manage change in their personal lives, let alone their careers.

I had years of research on personal and professional change management under my belt, but I did an even deeper dive into how change happens (or doesn’t) and wrote The 7 Keys to Change: A New Approach to Managing Change to Live Better and Work Smarter.

Change involves making decisions. And every decision has a ripple effect. That truth led, indirectly, to writing my first novel.

The Unlived Lives of Raymond Quinn is about a man given the extraordinary opportunity to visit universes parallel to the one in which he died as a young soldier. He experiences the lives he might have lived had he made different choices.

I was certain my career as a novelist would be “one and done,” but this universe had other plans. The Unlived Lives of Shelly Bennett picks up the trail of an important character in the first book. The Unlived Lives Reckoning, the third book in the series, brings the reader full circle, prompting them to consider their own choices.

Similar to my Raymond Quinn character, I served in the U.S. Army, First Cavalry Division, during the Vietnam War in 1968.

After leaving the service, I graduated from college, married, raised two sons, and eventually found my true calling as a serial entrepreneur.

My other accomplishments include earning a lifetime ban from Catalina Island at 13, viewing Earth from 80,000 feet during a Mach 2.5 flight in a Russian MiG-25 "Foxbat" fighter, and remaining an absolute beginner after “playing” guitar for more than three decades.
